English wedding at Château Lagut.
Château Lagut offers a breathtaking view of the Dordogne valley, with its extensive formal gardens, shady paths and sparkling lake.
After the preparations, the wedding ceremony takes place outdoors in the gardens. It can also take place in an adjoining chapel. The chapel is decorated with frescoes and old stained glass windows, creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere.
After the ceremony, the cocktail party starts at 4pm/5pm. The park is perfect for couple’s photos, with its tree-lined paths, flowerbeds, lake and a magnificent weeping willow.
Dinner starts at about 6.30 pm and is served in one of the castle’s dining rooms, with only two very quick speeches. At 9.30pm dessert arrives and it’s time for me to leave.
English weddings are often very quick. It is possible in less than 8 hours to have photos from the preparations to the ball opening.
This is one of the reasons why (along with kilts!) I particularly enjoy English weddings. Especially when they are organised by the lovely Debbie!
